My name is Susan A. H. Priest. I graduated from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana with a B.A. on Art. After working as a graphic artist for several years, and as a resident artist for the St. Louis Medical Society and St. Louis Medical Museum, I turned my attention to free-lance painting and drawing. The focus of my work changed again with a move to Cape Cod, where I studied watercolor painting at Cape Cod Community College. I have also studied painting internationally, in both France and Ireland.
I am currently a member of the Cider Painters of America, the Colored Pencil Society of America, and the Delhi Art Group in New York State. I have taught art courses for a continuing education audience at SUNY Delhi, and presently teach Children’s Art Classes and Adult Drawing Classes for the Delhi Art Group.
I have received numerous awards over the years for my artwork, and I am presently featured in several Catskill venues. I also show my work through the Rotating Artists program of the Delhi Art Group. I teach privately, do commission work, and have donated my time completing a mural for the Delaware County Courthouse in Delhi, New York.
In June 2004, two of my miniature pieces (through the Cider Painters) were accepted into the Third Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature of the World Federation of Miniaturists, shown at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC.
